Lori Nozick Lori NozickLori Nozick created Lighthouses to celebrate the sun, light and space. The work is both functional and metaphorical: it functions as a compass, marking the four cardinal directions and a sundial marking the time. During the day, each lighthouse gathers the sunlight in solar panels and returns the energy with LED lights, glowing softly at dusk, as if inhaling and exhaling light each day. Nozick was recently selected by sculptor Mary Miss to receive the "Best Public Arts Project of the Year" award for her piece Luce Et Vita Universae, sponsored by the Americans for The Arts, Public Art Network and Review. She lives in Crompond, NY.
